We get the next inspiring cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic for the upcoming expansion, Knights of the Eternal Throne. Due to release in December 2nd. The last gave a spike in players going back to the Star Wars MMO, and this might just do it again.
BioWare show exactly why they are so good at story telling, back in July 2015 we got Star Wars: The Old Republic’s biggest and most interesting expansion in a while. This was mostly because of the revamp made by the recent new slew of Star Wars films, and the lore of the Star Wars universe.
Since Knights of the Fallen Empire, the previous Star Wars: The Old Republic expansion made a big splash due to the cinematic trailer and even drew players back to the game. EA and BioWare are hoping to do that again with Knights of the Eternal Throne deep cinematic trailer, and new content brought into the MMO.
Knights of the Eternal Throne will offer players going back 9 chapters of a new story, a slew of companions to play with. As well as premium companions based off when, or if you pre-order the expansion. And more to do, with access to the new Galactic Command system, making you able to fight and grow your power to retain control of the galaxy in ongoing battles.
But will it be a short boom like last time? Given the recent World of Warcraft: Legion expansion we have something to go off. We see that the fall off of players continuing to play is not as big as of yet as Warlord of Draenor.
So if this SWTOR expansion can do something of the same, we may see more players staying around for longer. We will have to see in December, but so far it does not seem it will have the same hooks WoW: Legion holds on players, but we may be surprised yet.
